Hospice of Lancaster County’s Women’s Giving Circle was founded in 2003 by a group of caring, dedicated women who wished to provide support for Hospice. This endeavor provides interested women with the unique opportunity, through contributing to this pool of funds, to effectively invest in projects that will build and strengthen Hospice-related programs through the power of joint contributions.

The 24 founding members of the Women’s Giving Circle met at their Annual Meeting in November of 2004 to make their first funding decision. They voted to grant $12,000 to fund an Education Program for the Lancaster County Medical Community and other healthcare professionals on Pediatric Palliative Care. The program was held in November of 2005 at Hospice of Lancaster County and addressed topics of concern to the physicians and nurses who provide care to infants and children who have a serious illness and are at the end of their life.

The Women’s Giving Circle, with its broad, inclusive membership, offers its members educational opportunities to learn more about philanthropy and the ability to determine how the members’ combined contributions will be distributed for Hospice of Lancaster County programs and services and for capital expenditures. You can make a difference by becoming a member of the Women’s Giving Circle and assisting in the decisions of how the Circle’s pool of funds will be used to provide quality end-of-life care in Lancaster County!
