Resources for Caregivers

Resources for Caregivers
Navigating the role and responsibilities of caregiving can be rewarding as well as challenging. This section offers many references and resources to help you on your caregiving journey so that you can care for your loved one while also caring for yourself.
Our mission at Hospice of Lancaster County is to comfort and support those coping with serious illness and their families. One way that we can do this is to ensure that patients and caregivers have access to the information they need to make comfortable and informed decisions about end-of-life care.
Support Group for Hospice Families
Hospice of Lancaster County provides a monthly support group for caregivers of patients who are in our program. Meeting with one another allows caregivers to share and learn about what can help in the caregiving role. We provide planned topics, but the group belongs to the caregivers, who are welcome to discuss any issues in this confidential setting.
The group meets the first Wednesday of every month, 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., at the Lancaster Hospice Center, 685 Good Drive.
Information on Serious Illnesses
This website serves as a family caregiver resource, to help the seriously ill and their families learn how to live as comfortably as they can within the context of their disease. Whether you need tips on handling the medical and physical aspects of care (e.g., pain management, nutrition and eating), are concerned about emotional or spiritual issues (e.g., grief, hope, family conflict), or simply want to know about important legal and financial decisions, seriousillness.org/lancaster is the place to turn.
