Our mission at Hospice of Lancaster County is to comfort and support those coping with serious illness and their families. One way that we can do this is to ensure that patients and caregivers have access to the information they need to make comfortable and informed decisions about end-of-life care.

This sections provides various resources and useful resources pertaining to end of life, as well as grief and loss. Each link will take you to a Web site not administered by Hospice of Lancaster County, and thus not all of the content listed can be described as endorsed by our organization. Aging With Dignity

Provides you with practical information, advice and legal tools you need to ensure that your wishes and those of your loved ones will be respected. Includes information for Five Wishes, a tool to create a living will which helps you express how you want to be treated if you are seriously ill and unable to speak for yourself.

ALS Association

Offers resources on diagnosis, treatment and research regarding ALS – amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Thirty nine chapters across the country provide help and hope to those facing ALS.

The Alzheimer's Association

This association, a world leader in Alzheimer research and support, and its website is dedicated to finding prevention methods, treatments and an eventual cure for Alzheimer’s. The website offers an online tool to find care in your community, and an online community of people from whom you can gain support and information.

American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine

The goal of palliative care is to prevent and relieve suffering and to support the best possible quality of life for patients facing life-threatening or debilitating illness and their families. This website offers education, a bookstore, and other resources on palliative medicine, as well as a list of regional speakers available to discuss palliative medicine and related topics.

Association for Death Education & Counseling
