Adult Support

Have you experienced a significant loss through death? Do you wonder and worry about whether your reactions are "normal?"

The PATHways Center for Grief & Loss, 4075 Old Harrisburg Pike, Mount Joy, PA, offers a wide variety of services and support for bereaved adults following the death of someone special. Anyone in the community may participate, regardless if their loved one was a Hospice patient. Thanks to the generous support of our community, there are no fees for these services. Some of our programs do, however, request a registration fee. Please feel free to call the PATHways Center at (717) 391-2413 or (717) 733-0699 with any questions.

Growing Through Grief

Explore ways of coping with life changes after the death of a loved one. Participants realize how growing through grief occurs in different ways for different people. Taught with both lecture and discussion, this six-session course is held for two hours one evening a week over the course of six consecutive weeks. Click here for more information.

Coping With Suicide Loss

This group provides a safe place to share with others who also have questions and struggle with the pain associated with the suicide of a loved one. A six-week group is offered twice a year for adults whose loss has occurred at least four to six months prior to the group. Individual consultation is available also at any time. Click here for more information.

Individual Consultation

Many people feel reassured and affirmed about their grief experience after meeting individually with our counselors. If professional assistance is needed beyond the scope of the services we offer, our staff can recommend additional support through local resources for specialized counseling services.

Grief Workshops

Periodically throughout the year, the PATHways Center offers workshops for those who have experienced a loss. Current topics include “Writing and Remembering”, “Sibling Loss”,“Grieving Multiple Deaths” and “Supporting the Bereaved.” See our current calendar of events for upcoming workshops or call (717) 391-2413.

Coping With the Holidays

Getting through the first or subsequent holiday seasons may be difficult. “Check in” opportunities are held each Tuesday from late November through early January to talk with others who understand the challenges of facing the holidays without a loved one.

The PATHways Adult Grief Retreat

This weekend retreat provides an arena to look at how one’s life has changed while gaining insights from others on a similar journey. The Retreat is open to any adult, age 21 or older, who has experienced the death of a loved one at least four months prior to the Retreat.

Remembering Our Mothers

Every year, on the Saturday before Mother’s Day, women whose mothers have died gather to remember and to celebrate their mothers at the “Remembering Our Mothers” breakfast at the Eden Resort.

PATHways Resource Library

Just as the PATHways newsletter is helpful to many readers, our resource library is used by many individuals. A wide variety of books, journals and video tapes are available to borrow on grief for children, adults, clergy, teachers and medical professionals.

Commemorative Opportunities

The Path of Remembrance, Light Up a Life and Service of Remembrance are all annual events that offer a way to commemorate and remember loved ones. Please click on the underlined titles above for more information.
