Adult SupportHave you experienced a significant loss through death? Do you wonder and worry about whether your reactions are "normal?" The PATHways Center for Grief & Loss, 4075 Old Harrisburg Pike, Mount Joy, PA, offers a wide variety of services and support for bereaved adults following the death of someone special. Anyone in the community may participate, regardless if their loved one was a Hospice patient. Thanks to the generous support of our community, there are no fees for these services. The PATHways NewsletterOur newsletter, “PATHways,” contains information about the natural process of grief, as well as upcoming support groups and educational opportunities.Newly Bereaved ProgramWould you like to know more about the support provided by the PATHways Center? If you’ve experienced a loss within the past three months, consider attending our Newly Bereaved Program, a three-week series held each month at the PATHways Center for Grief & Loss. Included is a video presentation, an overview of common grief responses and an explanation of all the bereavement services offered through the PATHways Center. Registration is required. Participants realize how growing through grief occurs in different ways for different people. Taught with both lecture and discussion, this six-session course is held for two hours one evening a week over the course of six consecutive weeks. Click here for more information.Coping With Suicide LossThis group provides a safe place to share with others who also have questions and struggle with the pain associated with the suicide of a loved one. A six-week group is offered twice a year for adults whose loss has occurred at least four to six months prior to the group. Individual consultation is available also at any time. Click here for more information.Individual ConsultationMany people feel reassured and affirmed about their grief experience after meeting individually with our counselors. If professional assistance is needed beyond the scope of the services we offer, our staff can recommend additional support through local resources for specialized counseling services.Grief WorkshopsPeriodically throughout the year, the PATHways Center offers workshops for those who have experienced a loss. Coping With the HolidaysGetting through the first or subsequent holiday seasons may be difficult. “Check in” opportunities are held each Tuesday from late November through early January to talk with others who understand the challenges of facing the holidays without a loved one.The PATHways Adult Grief RetreatThis weekend retreat provides an arena to look at how one’s life has changed while gaining insights from others on a similar journey. The Retreat is open to any adult, age 21 or older, who has experienced the death of a loved one at least four months prior to the Retreat.Remembering Our MothersEvery year, on the Saturday before Mother’s Day, women whose mothers have died gather to remember and to celebrate their mothers at the “Remembering Our Mothers” breakfast at the Eden Resort.Click here for more information. PATHways Resource LibraryJust as the PATHways newsletter is helpful to many readers, our resource library is used by many individuals.
